Arabic studies in the Arabic department deal with the Arabic language, grammar, syntax and written and oral expression. The department examines the foundations of the religion of Islam, at the center of which is the book of the Qur'an and its interpretation, as well as the Hadith, the oral traditions of Islam. As part of their Arabic studies, students delve into the major thinkers, philosophers and theologians of Islam who have influenced the spiritual world.
